Celebrating 100 Years of the Remington Library
1913-2013
Come celebrate 100 years of the Remington Library. Join us for an Ice Cream Social and Open House at the Remington Library on Thursday, June 6 from 7-8:30pm ESE (or until ice cream runs out).
Currently displayed at the library are books popular in the last 100 years, historical items, and a scrapbook of the library history.
The library opened its doors June 1, 1913 in the north room of the Howard Furniture store. The Carnegie building was opened May 30, 1916. On April 24, 1961 a fire broke out in the early morning hours which destroyed the entire building and all of its contents. A new library building was built on the same site and opened in 1964. A community room, the Ray & Fern Tobias Center, was added and the rest of the library remodeled and dedicated on November 3, 2002.

The library board meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00pm at the library.
Summer is around the corner and kids will soon be out of school. The library has several events planned to entertain your children whether they are teens or preschoolers. There is also a reading program with prizes given out for reading (preschoolers can be read to). For more information click here..
