Friends of the Library

Mission statement: The Friends of RCTPL, Inc. is an association whose purpose is to foster awareness of the library and to strengthen this invaluable resource for the town of Remington and the state of Indiana. Founded in 2005, the Friends add to the activity and strength not only of the library, but of Remington as well. Friends' programs heighten community awareness of the library's resources; Friends' gifts enrich the library's collections; and Friends' development efforts build long-term library support.

Look what the Friends have been able to do in 2009, thanks to great community support:

donate money for the library to put towards requested books as well as books needed to complete a series
donate zippered hanging bags and display rack for children's audio books
donate summer reading prizes
sponsor Ronald McDonald and carnival games to kick off the summer reading program
sponsor Adzooks puppet show to end the summer reading program
save money towards upcoming larger needs the library may have
Books for Babies program where parents receive a book packet for their new child

Membership fees are due in January and are valid for one year. Membership forms can be picked up at the library's circulation desk. You may also leave your membership fees at the circulation desk.
